4-Night Short Break in Alicante
This unique break is based in the Coastal of Alicante, and combines the fabulous coastal wetlands with mountains and steppes of the inland areas providing some of Spain´s best sites for bird watching and field photography.

The best time of year for this trip is either Spring (March to July) or Autumn/Winter (October to February).

The above model is based upon 4 nights in a birding friendly hotel in Santa Pola (bed and breakfast basis).

The trip is completely adaptable according to the clients´ wishes and includes:
4 nights in a bird friendly hotel in Santa Pola Salt Marshes.
3 days of guided bird watching at the local wetlands, mountains and steppe.
A typical plan involves:
DAY 1
Arrival at Alicante airport. Collection and transfer to the hotel included.
DAY 2
Guided bird watching at the premium reserves of El Hondo. Target species… Marble Duck, Purple Swamphen, Flamingo, Red-necked Grebe, Moustached Warbler, Little Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Greater Spotted Eagle (from November to March), and more.
DAY 3
Guided bird watching at either the high steppe and inland lagoons. Target species… Great Bustard, Little Bustard, Stone Curlew, Calandra Lark, Lesser Kestrel, White- headed Duck, Flamingo, Hoopoe, Rock Sparrow and many more.
DAY 4
Guided bird watching to the mountains of inland Alicante. Target species… Griffon Vulture, Blue Rock Thrush, Black Wheatear, Peregrine Falcon, Alpine Accentor (during winter) and many more.
DAY 5
Guided bird watching to the Salt Marshes before returning to the airport. Target species… Spoonbill, Slender-billed Gull, Audouin’s Gull and more. Transfer to the airport included.

This is an extremely popular trip for couples. Based on two people sharing a room, indicative pricing is from 600€ per person.
This includes 4 nights’ accommodation on bed and breakfast basis, all local transport and professional guiding services throughout the trip. Flights, lunches, dinners, drinks etc. are not included. For larger groups of more than two people, we could offer reduced rates.
